How to migrate your Pocket data after the export shutdown

Pocket's export has closed (ended November 12, 2025)

Pocket shut down on July 8, 2025, and data export at getpocket.com/export remained available until November 12, 2025. On that date, any data you hadn't exported was permanently deleted. So you can no longer create a new export from Pocket. There are two paths forward:

• You have an export file (CSV / HTML) from before the deadline → import it into a replacement
• You missed the deadline → the data can't be recovered, so rebuild in a new service

If you have an export file: import it into a replacement

Many read-later services — Instapaper, Raindrop.io and others — support importing a Pocket export. The steps are roughly:

1. Create an account on your chosen service
2. In settings, choose Import and select your Pocket export file (CSV or HTML)
3. After importing, tidy up tags and folders to finish carrying everything over

Note: LaterHub doesn't offer a bulk importer yet. You'd use your export file as a reference and re-save the important items via the browser extension or share sheet.

If you missed the export deadline

If you're past the November 12, 2025 deadline, your saved data on Pocket's side can't be recovered. Pull the important items from your browser history, bookmarks and the sites you read often, and re-save them in a new service. Treat it as a chance to pick a service that fits how you actually work — personal vs. team, read-status and search.

What to reconsider while migrating

• Personal or team use (do you need sharing?)
• Whether you need read/unread tracking
• Search you can rely on later (tags, full-text, semantic)
• A saving path (extension, share sheet, app) that fits your routine

When a team carries it over

A personal move is just picking a destination. Carrying over information a team shared needs a service with sharing units and per-member read-status. Handing everyone a personal tool won't solve sharing or read tracking.

If you move to LaterHub
